Company count skews toward whichever sectors got the most editorial attention; disclosed revenue is closer to real economic size but only covers the 6,131 of 7,072 companies with a disclosed sales figure.
The industries the archive covers most — not necessarily the industries that are actually largest. A sector stacked with small, distinct companies can outcount one dominated by a handful of giants.
Sums each sector's companies' disclosed sales figures — each one a snapshot from whatever year that company's entry was written, not adjusted for inflation or aligned to a common year. Closer to real size than a headcount, still an archive artifact, not a government statistic.
